UVA Social Development Lab

Sara Rimm-Kaufman directs the UVa Social Development Lab at the Curry School of Education and the Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL).

The lab serves as an organizational structure for several ongoing studies. Currently, Sara Rimm-Kaufman is conducting research on classroom social processes and their influence on children's social and academic growth in the early years of school. Further, she is conducting research on the contribution of the Responsive Classroom Approach on children's social and academic growth in elementary school. Research conducted in the UVa Social Development Lab is interdisciplinary, drawing from the fields of psychology and education.
